Buist Sheet Metal Company is currently celebrating 60 years in business. Jim Buist runs the company today, a third generation family owned business. The company specializes in architectural sheet metal, custom copper work, standing seam, slate and clay tile roofing. Buist still uses their original wood dies to work on old metal cornices and restoration work.
Buist has been using an ESE Model 100 Panformer since 1989. They have bought three other machines since, but still use the '89 model as their primary panformer. Buist has run double lock panels up to 125 feet long. They have also curved standing seam panels to fit barrel roofs and round dormer roofs. Buist also uses ESE power seamers and hand tools. |
